In Memoriam

Charles T. Theofan, Esq., brings his unique 35 years experience in real estate development, as a zoning and planning attorney and having served in various public administration executive positions.

As of December 2011 he was the City Manager of the City of Long Beach, where he has also served as Police Commissioner, Fire Commissioner, Tax Assessor, Corporation Counsel and Counsel to the Zoning Board of Appeals. Previously he had served as Commissioner, of the department of Planning & Economic Development of the Town of Hempstead, Deputy Commissioner and General Counsel of the Community Development Agency of the Inc. Village of Hempstead.

In the past, Mr. Theofan had his own private law firm, practicing in both civil and criminal State and Federal litigation, particularly focused in real estate zoning litigation and representation of private developers and civic associations in Nassau County.

He is the author of many publications, including "How To Prepare For The Law School Admission Test" McGraw-Hill Publications (1980).

Mr. Theofan received his Juris Doctor from the University of Toledo, Ohio (Member Law review, Moot Court Board, selected to compete in National Labor Law Moot Court Competition), his Master in Public Administration from Baruch College of Business and Public Administration City University of New York and his Bachelor of Arts (Cum Laude) in political science and economics from the City College of the City of New York (Dean’s list throughout college, National Political Science honor Society).
